Colloidal Silver: Appendicitis Treatment
June 20, 2008 – 11:58 amThe best appendicitis treatment is undergoing surgery in order to remove the appendix. The operation is called an appendectomy and removes the appendix before it opens or ruptures. If you choose this method of appendicitis treatment, you will be given IV fluids to keep hydrated awaiting surgery. Also, you will not be allowed to eat or drink anything because it may cause complications with the anesthesia during surgery. Of course, you will be able to resume a normal diet gradually for about 3-4 weeks after the surgery.
The appendix, a narrow tubular pouch, is attached to the intestines. The appendix becomes inflamed and results in the condition called appendicitis when it is blocked. If the blockage continues in the appendix, then the inflamed tissue becomes infected with bacteria and begins to die from a lack of blood supply. Ultimately, the appendix will eventually burst.
Appendicitis commonly affects 6% of people at some point during their life. It is most common among those between 10 and 30 years of age but it can occur at any age. It is important to watch out for symptoms among the very young and old because they have a higher rate of complications. Symptoms include a slight pain in the middle of the abdomen that moves to the right lower abdomen in 24 hours, nausea, vomiting, and fever.
Home Appendicitis Treatments
Although there is no specific home appendicitis treatment, taking care to avoid eating or drinking excessive fluids will help if you need surgery later on. If you are thirsty, try rinsing your mouth with water. Avoid taking laxatives, antibiotics, or pain medications because they may cause the appendix to rupture or mask symptoms, thus making diagnosis more difficult.
